And meanwhile...

Wow!  Apparently the past several years put a halt to a lot of things - including Essi's travel blog.  Just a quick catch up here before we head out on our Great Western Adventure (it is our fifth try!).

Pre-Covid, in the fall of 2018, we enjoyed a trip to Atlanta to attend another All Things Silhouette Conference.  We celebrated our eleventh anniversary with a sunshiny lunch on the patio at the conference and a room service supper.  Truly a splurge for us.

On the way home, we detoured through northeastern Kentucky and visited the Ark Experience and the Creation Museum.  The Ark blew us away!  Great care was taken to be as authentic as possible - according to today's scholars' understanding of the old texts.  It was huge, didn't feel cheesy -  a holy and worshipful experience.  Both sites reflected our faith view, which made them more meaningful for us.  I can't resist including a few extra photos.

The ark was enormous.

The huge door God shut to keep the ark inhabitants safe.

Maybe Noah really used tools like this to build the ark.

It was very noisy in this spot.  We could hear the storm!

Some two-by-two's may not actually have been in the ark...

And at the Creation museum, we were reminded that Essi isn't really a rule follower.

This trip was a big deal for us.  We had no idea we would enjoy these sites so much.
