So fun!

Hanging out at The Breakers with the Vanderbilts, don'tcha know...

Sunday was a relaxed, quiet day.  We have promised to have regular rest days.  When we don't, we develop Europe-Trip-Syndrome: oh, look... another castle... yah...so?

Living the life in the Connecticut woods.

I spent part of my afternoon at the picnic table in the cool, bright sunshine playing with paper and glue and scissors.  (And our very cool wireless printer.) I made a State Plate Bingo travel game.  When we  get a Bingo on our randomly-created bingo card, we get... ICE CREAM!  I'm one square away from an ice cream stop.  If you know anyone in Wisconsin, would you sent them to New England this weekend?  Please?

Real friends are forever.

We drove to Old Saybrook and found my friend Catie.  We taught together in England and I haven't seen her since we left - 28 years ago.  We had a delicious several hours together reconnecting, reminiscing, renewing.  We felt so loved in her presence.  She promised to come to Indiana for a visit.

We have a wonderful God story about our overnight in Old Saybrook.  Condensed:  Stopped into a church to ask if we could use their parking lot for the night.  When Jerry walked into his office, the pastor was online at that very moment with a group who is trying to put together a list/site of churches willing to host rv-ers overnight.  Seriously!  I've never believed God is a God of serendipity.  We saw His hand at work.

Watching the boats is relaxing

Carrying on along the Sound, we stopped in Mystic and had a through-the-fence look at Mystic Seaport.  Being near the water is so, so good.  I've always been a water person.  Fortunately, Jerry loves the water nearly as much.

The famous Cliff Walk in Newport, R.I. is not for sissies

Never a boring view in any direction

Our Stop in Newport, Rhode Island was pure pleasure.  We're so grateful for Lucy-Loo, our guide in Google Maps.  What an amazing tool.  We landed in a nearly empty street with easy access to the Cliff Walk.  There were actual rocks - lots of rocks - to make our way across as we walked along.  Fun, fun, fun.  So much fun.
