We've actually been home for half a year as I write this, but it feels right to document the last weeks of our trip here. It's so fun to look back, see, and absorb that we were there - we were really there.
We left the Las Vegas/ Hoover Dam area and drove south to return catch up with the Route 66 leg of our trip. More on that in separate posts. We drove through northwestern Arizona, which gave us some beautiful views that were not typical desert scenery for a few miles.
We landed in Williams, AZ and found a spot in a full-hook-up campground. What a luxury. Power, showers, laundry. We stayed in Williams on our visit to the Grand Canyon in 2009. It was fun to be back. We stayed an extra day or two, catching our breath, dealing with ... snow.
Our visit to the Grand Canyon was short but breathtaking. It doesn't matter that we've seen it before. It is magnificent. The power, the drama, the peace. These big, breathtaking places feel so holy.

We left the park in the evening, and found a dispersed camping spot along the highway to the east of the park. As we head into Utah, we are juggling and balancing freezing temperatures with our desire to stay and see more and more.
