Happy Thanksgiving

November 23, 2022

Happy Thanksgiving!  God is good.  All the time.  Over and over, we have watched His goodness in our lives and throughout our adventure.  His provision and abundance are so humbling.

We’re grateful for you.  Thank you for caring about us and keeping up with where we are.  Thank you for sharing our joy in our Great Western Adventure.

We are celebrating our Thanksgiving today, just outside Amarillo, Texas, near the Cadillac Ranch.  It is a blessing to be stopped today, resting and reflecting in the Texas sunshine.  We have showers and electric! We’ll be back on the road on real Thanksgiving Day.

We have so much to share here on Essi’s blog: national park visits to the Grand Canyon, the Utah Five, the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert; a return to our Route 66 adventure.  Soooo many photos.  I’m not going to spend today working on sorting through all those photos.  I’m writing a little, but will post everything on down the line.

We woke up a couple days ago after a night in a truck stop parking lot, and realized we’re ready to stop wandering and head for home.  No more long side trips because “that looks interesting”, or “that might be cool”.  We plan to enjoy and experience Route 66, but stay focused on heading east. Heading home. We think we’re ready to get back to a life that is just a little easier and warmer.  We are hoping to stay ahead of / east of a messy cold front and snow moving in behind us.  But we don’t want to be in a hurry.  These Route 66 excursions are so much fun.

Enjoy your day, cherish your loved ones.  Find a quiet private moment to share with your Creator.  Take good care of your precious self.  You matter, and we love you.
