Ze Plains!

Our Harvest Host thank you cards

Hmm... it seems I was more interested in working on my charcoal grey tunic vest than taking photos of the plains, the endless plains, as we drove through them. I made some good progress on my knitting.  Won't this be a cozy garment?

The project I saved for our trip - an alpaca/merino blend

We drove through the plains of southwestern South Dakota and eastern Wyoming, then spent the night at a golf course. They are a member (as are we) of the Harvest Hosts program. They were welcoming, had a spot saved for us, and we enjoyed a quiet, private, undisturbed night. We left one of our thank you cards on their door, and quietly (today) called Wagons Ho! at about 7:45 eastern (5:45 here). We're trying to stay on an Eastern time schedule. It's easier for some of us (Frodo and Marsha) than it is for the rest of us. But we all agree that we like getting up and out early. Crossing fingers we stay motivated.

Maybe you haven't seen our home on wheels.  We are so grateful for it.

Our little 20-foot turtle van

We created a logo and put it on each side of the van before we left.  We changed the hat because Jerry prefers bucket hats, and he looks so cute in them.  We're really not MAGA red hat people, and thought that might look a little too political for the side of our peace-filled van.

Okay, back to business.  We spent the day in the plains, and made it to the foothills.  It's is unendingly interesting to look at our nation's geographic diversity.

We just had to sing the Close Encounters 5-note melody as we passed this butte.

What an interesting change of scenery

Sometimes looking out the window was like looking at a painting
