Parks - Part II

September 21, 2022  (delayed post- this is our first reliable signal and access to electricity)

After all those miles and miles of plains, we were so excited to see the "real" mountains in the distance on our way to Grand Teton National Park. We drove the circle tour of the park, and spent most of our time on the west side before we checked into our primitive campsite in the park.  Our plan was to camp in Grand Teton and make the 29 mile drive to visit Yellowstone before the weekend.

Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are next door neighbors. Our impression was that Grand Teton is the quiet neighbor and Yellowstone is the party neighbor. It was a good plan, as it turned out.  Many of the Yellowstone campgrounds were already closed for the winter.  Those that were open were long filled.  We enjoyed our Grand Teton campground's last days before they closed as well.  Our weather was warm, warm, warm.  We were so surprised.

Watching the face of the mountains change in the light of the passing day was breathtaking.  We went back again, parked the turtle van, and enjoyed a long morning just watching it all again.

You'll likely tire of all the mountain photos.  They are posted mostly for Jerry.  He loves the mountains.  He's a mountain man.  I can promise that when we get to big water, you'll find at least as many water photos. I'm the water girl.  So thanks for bearing with us.

Enjoy the evolving faces of the Grand Tetons as we experienced them.
