Highlights - Fall 2018

Essi has had a very long break, hasn't she?  The good news is that
                        1) she has had a wonderful fall
                        2) she was actually created for traveling, so she rests during at-home time
                        3) she is now well-rested and ready for her next adventure
                        4) her next adventure is happening soon!  We're pretty excited.

Meanwhile, here are a few memories from Fall 2018.

We enjoyed cousin time at our annual get-together

We learned that Spam is very tasty!

We joined our cousins in Minnesota for our annual girls' weekend.  We love getting together, and this year we had a tour of the Spam factory!  It was far cooler than we expected.  We picked up a few hard-to-find flavors that will be so handy for our road trip.

We made things in preparation for the conference fun

We went to Georgia to attend another All
Things Silhouette Conference.  It is the best
learning opportunity of its kind.  We brought
home ideas and skills and confidence to explore
new media.

Hanging out in the warm sunshine

My beloved drove with me, and we celebrated
our anniversary with delivery pizza.

Driving to Atlanta and home in the camper van was our first long trip.  We began collecting states!  Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Ohio.  A nice start for a few days on the road.

On the way back home, we spent a day at The Ark Encounter, and another morning at The Creation Museum.  The Ark was a moving, holy experience.  God is honored and celebrated there.  If you'd like to read more about it, go here.

The ark is one and a half football fields long.

Our first glimpse of the ark.  It's huge.

It is taller than a modern four-story house.

Walking toward the ark, we began to understand
just how really big a project its construction was.

It was filled with cages, clay urns, and animals

My beloved is such a good sport.  He and Essi
crawled into one of the animal cages!

I take books for granted.

Maybe Noah's library looked like this.  What a
lot of work it was to record and protect words.

The light  the sounds added to the experience.

In various places throughout the ark, we could hear
the great storm happening outside.  It was noisy!

At the Creation Museum, we saw these signs here and there.  Apparently the rocks aren't real.

And...  apparently Essi isn't one for obeying signs.

Who knew she was such a little rebel?

We finished the year with family in our home (thank you for being with us,  Beth & Paul, Chad, Annie & Shaun), joining others in their homes, and knowing that we are greatly blessed and loved.  God gives good gifts, and we are listening for them, seeing them, and receiving them daily.
